Nauman, Ronald Hugh was born in Eau Claire, WI on 8/21/1927 and raised in Evanston, IL. He graduated from Cornell College in Iowa, where he met his wife of 70 years, Marlene J. Brown. After retiring from General Mills, Ron and Marlene spent 20+ years trave ling the world and spending time at their cabin in Lutsen, MN. He loved community life and was very active at Lake Harriet UMC and the Tait Lake Association. Ron was a gentle soul who would weep at grace on Thanksgiving, and the tough sort whose doctor mus t tell him that a quadruple bypass means it's time to stop running 5 miles a day. A relentlessly grateful optimist, he loved his family and friends, his community, his beloved Northwoods trees (he planted 1000+), and could regularly be found with book or n ewspaper in hand. He is survived by wife Marlene, 4 children (Deborah, Susan, Brad, and Sally), 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on a date to be scheduled over the summer. Memorials to Friends of the Boundary Waters, or a cause of the donor's choice.
