Brooks, Gladys S. age 95, of Minneapolis, passed away on January 1, 2009 amid family, after an extended illness. Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gladys P. and John F. Sinclair; her sister, Frances S. Larsen; and her dear husband of over 50 years, Minneapolis Attorney, Wright W. Brooks. She is survived by three children, Diane (Roger) Montgomery, and John W. Brooks, both of Minneapolis and Pamela (Jean-Marc) Perraud of Switzerland; further, she is survived by five grandchildren, Thomas, Kathrine, Christine, Andrea, and Marc as well as nieces, Karen Nelson, of Washington, D.C. and Sherrill Brockett of Corvallis, Montana; and other extended family and many friends worldwide. A private interment at Lakewood Cemetery will be held for the family. A memorial service, planned and detailed by Gladys herself, will be held at a later date this month. Memorials preferred to; "Gladys Brooks Scholarship Fund" at the Minnesota International Center, 711 East River Rd., Minneapolis, MN 55455, a University of Minneso ta nonprofit organization founded by Gladys and dedicated to international exchange and understanding, or "Gladys Brooks Scholarship Fund" for women graduate students in public affairs at the Center for Women in Government, Hamline University, 1536 Hewitt Avenue, St. Paul MN 55104.
