Sommer, Eleanore Ruth (Gurney) Wife of the late State Senator and Bank President of Wells Fargo of Owatonna, Clifford C. Sommer. Passed away June 30, 2008 at home in Bloomington. Born September 9, 1909 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Elmer & Lucy Gurney. Survived by daughters, Margaret (William) Anderson and Gayle (Stan) Gaffin; grandchildren, Leanne (Eric) Wasleske, Jay (Laura) Anderson, Scott (Amy) Gaffin, Todd (Sara) Gaffin, Jennifer (Dave) deAlwis; six great-grandchildren. Well known for her piano talent, she accompanied singing groups and soloists in Minneapolis and Owatonna for over 60 years. She was a musical volunteer at Friendship Village for over 20 years. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the exceptional and professional caring staff and all the employees of Friendship Village who contributed daily to her quality of life.
