Bobby Marshall was a multi-sport athlete, lawyer, and father of four. He was the first African American football player to play in the Big 9 (now Big 10), the first African American high school football coach in Minneapolis, and the first African American lead coach in collegiate football. During his 20+ year career, he also played in the National Football League, and was a standout player for multiple Midwest Black baseball teams. Marshall was entered into the National Football Foundation’s Hall of Fame.
