From the beautiful monuments and markers, to the unique and unexpected architectural designs. Lakewood has plenty of options to explore your artistic side through photography. Join photographer Eric Mueller for an informational session on the basics of creative phone photography, and then an opportunity to explore our grounds capturing beautiful and unique photos with your own phone!

This event will meet in the beautiful Lakewood Garden Mausoleum for an informational session on the basics of creative phone photography, then we will head out to the grounds to practice these newfound skills.

What to bring:

  • A smart phone with camera capabilities
  • (Optional) Notebook and pen for taking notes
  • (Optional) Water and sunscreen

About your instructor

Eric Mueller is an artist, photographer, and teacher. Known for his graphic style and strength in composition, his photographs have been exhibited in dozens of group shows, including at the Plains Art Museum, the Devos Art Museum, the Midwest Center for Photography, Head On Photo Festival, the Southeast Center for Photography, and the Columbus Museum of Art. He has been recognized with awards by American Photography, The Photo Review, the iPhone Photography Awards, and the Mobile Photography Awards. He has over 40,000 followers on Instagram. Mueller’s first photography book, Family Resemblance, was recently published by Daylight Books.

The Lakewood Garden Mausoleum

This event will meet in the beautiful Garden Mausoleum. Signs will be posted directing you to the event location or click here for GPS navigation through Google Maps. 

Event will take place primarily outdoors, with some indoor elements. Restrooms will be available in the Garden Mausoleum as well.

Signs will be posted to get you to the event site.

Parking

Parking is available on any of Lakewood’s roads. Please be mindful of narrow roadways and do not park on both sides of the street if two vehicles are not able to get through. We strongly encourage carpooling.

There is a bus stop outside of Lakewood’s gates, and then it is a short walk (about 2 city blocks) to the event location.

A bike rack is also available to the west of the main gate. There are no bike racks available near the event location – please do not lock bikes to trees. 

Tickets at the Door

If an event is not sold out, tickets will be available at the door. Tickets at the door are CASH ONLY.
