Grief can be one of the most potent and clarifying emotions we can experience. It has the ability to cut through all the noise and distraction and bring us right into the central core of our humanity. In this session, we will facilitate a meditative experience that can connect you with the emotions that may be just under the surface. We’ll explain how to engage in a practice of active listening and start working with these emotions as a tool for remaining clear and present. We will begin by walking through some breathwork designed to release tension, then from a relaxed and open state we will use a variety of overtone producing instruments as a backdrop for a contemplative journey to the heart of your human experience. The rich sounds of the instruments will bring you into the present moment. Give yourself permission to connect with the sounds and vibrations of the instruments through a process of judicious listening and receptivity. Lean into your grief, joy, vulnerability, compassion and strength.

What to Bring

  • (optional) A blanket, pillow, or mat – please note all seating is in pews, but many guests like to lay down in the pews, or find them more comfortable with a blanket or pillow
  • (optional) Water bottle – no other food or beverage is allowed in the chapel

Tickets at the Door

If an event is not sold out, tickets may be available at the door. At this time we only accept cash or check at the door.

About your guides

Thomasina and Bob Fisk (Waking Nomad) are mind body facilitators with backgrounds in personal development, meditation, yoga, breathwork, music and mental wellness. They have been called to the power of sound through firsthand experience and training, both with the instruments and philosophies of this ancient and evolving wellness modality. We look forward to practicing with you!

The Historic Lakewood Memorial Chapel

This event will take place in the beautiful Lakewood Memorial Chapel. This historic chapel provides a peaceful and reverent setting for this healing experience.

Signs will be posted directing you to the event location or click here for GPS navigation through Google Maps.

Parking

Parking is available on any of the roads inside Lakewood’s gates unless otherwise noted with a no parking sign. Handicap parking will be available near the chapel entrance. Lakewood does not have an onsite parking lot – it is street parking only. This means you may have to park a short distance away and walk. We strongly encourage carpooling and taking public transportation.

Bussing

There is a bus that stops right outside of Lakewood’s gates.

Biking

There is a nice ride station available on 34th/Hennepin, and 36th/Bryant. Lakewood only has one small bike rack near the main front gates.
