Grief is one of the heart’s natural responses to loss—not just of a loved one, but of Self, of the earth, of expectations. When we grieve, we allow ourselves to feel the truth of our pain. In this culture, there is a tendency to hide our grief, but meditating on grief allows us to feel, process, and acknowledge or suffering.
Join Lakewood and hosts Christin Ament and Charmagne Lee as we explore ways to process grief and loss through a Yin inspired meditation. Yin is the practice of holding a posture for a longer period of time, allowing us to slow down, turn inward, and hold space for our own emotional pain and discomfort, focusing on the grief we are carrying in our bodies.
No previous experience necessary.
About your guides
Christin Ament, is a palliative care and hospice provider who has led meditations on death around the globe. She has studied with teachers from many wisdom traditions and brings a deeply grounded presence to this powerful practice.
Guest co-host, Charmagne Lee is a mental health professional, yin yoga teacher, and community herbalist. Charmagne has been working in mental health and teaching yoga for over 10 years, and has come to know and observe just how much grief is carried in our bodies. She believes it’s crucial to our well-being to process the grief we hold in our hearts and in our bodies, and yin is a powerful tool to do this work.
