Join Yoga Sanctuary, a nonprofit studio on the east side of Lake Harriet, for a meditative guided yoga practice on the lawn by the new Welcome Center at Lakewood.

All people—brand new and experienced yoga practitioners—will enjoy this energy balancing practice promoting strength, flexibility, balance and clarity in this beautiful and inspiring venue. We will use mindful movement and guided breathing techniques to help settle our thoughts, flowing and holding postures to support the physical body, and rest to connect with the soul. Modifications to ease or intensify poses will be sprinkled throughout the class.

This session is special in connection with Lakewood’s Tulip week. Participants will be among the tulips as they follow along to Yoga Sanctuary’s reflective routine.

What to Bring:

  • Yoga mat
  • Water bottle
  • A sheet or towel to put under your yoga mat

About the Lakewood Welcome Center Lawn & Tulips

Last fall, 50,000 tulip bulbs were carefully planted across the grounds and by early May, they’ll be bursting into color, transforming the landscape into a breathtaking floral display. As an arboretum, Lakewood is dedicated to providing new ways for our community to engage with nature in the heart of the city. Join Yoga Sanctuary for a special yoga session amongst the tulips at Lakewood.
