Growing Through Grief: Bringing the Beauty of Nature into End-of-Life Care

Join us at Lakewood on Thursday, July 14 from 6-8pm as we welcome local end-of-life and grief care professionals to the Garden Mausoleum to learn more about bringing nature, art, and ritual to our families and community.

Lakewood is honored to welcome back Day Schildkret of Morning Altars for our fourth annual Midsummer Memory Mandalas celebration this July. To kick-off this weekend of beauty, nature, and remembrance at Lakewood, we are hosting a special invitation-only artist talk for local deathcare workers, grief practitioners, and other industry professionals. We’ll take a closer look at incorporating nature, art, and ritual into the care we provide, and how creating mindful practices can help throughout the grief journey.

Join us for a conversation and Q&A with the artist moderated by Cathy Wurzer, listen to a brief reading from Day’s new book “Hello, Goodbye: 75 Rituals for Times of Loss, Celebration and Change”, and enjoy a reception following the event to connect with other industry professionals. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Attendance for this professional event is limited. Please RSVP using the form below.

Contact Amanda Luke, Lakewood’s Community Programs Manager at amandal@lakewoodcemetery.org with questions.
