Jansen, Benjamin Thomas Born, August 28, 1998. Died by his own Hand on December 16, 2017. Preceded in death by Theodore and Amy Sweetser (grandparents), and Neal Jansen (Grand Parent). Survived by Parents Steven and Christine (Sweetser) Jansen, and brother Joshua. Also survived by Grandparents Marlene and David Speltz, Grandmother Martha Jansen and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Benjamin graduated from Minne-tonka High School in 2017 and was studying Computer Science at the University of North Dakota, Gran d Forks. He had a passion for art and was excited about taking a theater class in the next semester as he wanted to use both disciplines to create new games for video and computer. Ben earned his Eagle Scout award in 2016. This award was indicative of his commitment to community service and the greater good. He was involved in several community service clubs while in boy scouts and at the high school. Others' needs were always placed before his own. Ben's smile was warm and welcoming. It is a favorite memo ry of his cousins. Everyone who knew him commented on how kind he was. He was a kind, loving and compassionate soul. To love and be loved was Ben's mantra. His personal mission was to take care of others' needs before his own. Ben was on the donor registra tion list and the gift of himself will continue on through approximately 75 other people. We want to thank the officers and detectives of the Minnetonka Police department and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner for their care and compassion. We would not have made it without them. We thank our family and friends for their love and support. We also want to thank all the friends of Joshua and Benjamin for being part of their lives and ours. In lieu of memorials, please make a donation to your favorite chari ty in Ben's memory. Peace and love, Steven, Christine and Joshua Services will be held at the Church of St. Therese of Deephaven, 18325 Minnetonka Boulevard, Wayzata MN 55391. Visitation at 10:00 am at the church.
