Lakewood’s beauty is both natural and meticulously maintained.
Our extraordinary commitment to our gardens and grounds is supported by one of the largest cemetery greenhouse operations in the country. Our staff grows and plants more than 95,000 flowers each season for the enjoyment of the community and the families of those memorialized here.
Coming in spring: Order fresh flower bouquets for a loved one
Beginning in spring, Lakewood will offer fresh flowers for sale. You can place these flowers at a loved one’s memorial site, or have Lakewood staff place them for you.

A Level 2 Arboretum
Our commitment to our natural landscape is now formally acknowledged in Lakewood’s designation as an accredited Level 2 Arboretum. Only the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum ranks higher in our state.
This arboretum designation recognizes that Lakewood’s 250-acre grounds are a dedicated green space where trees and shrubs are intentionally cultivated for scientific and educational purposes. Lakewood is home to a biodiverse tree canopy of more than 4,000 trees, thousands of other shrubs and specialty plants, myriad wildlife and a thoughtfully planned ecosystem.
