Charles Alan (Charlie) Quist of Minneapolis, MN passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at the age of 79. He was born on January 23, 1942, in Marshall, MN, and he grew up in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Washburn High School in Minneapolis, MN, Cl ass of 1960. Charlie was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a pharmaceutical salesman and later a medical device tester and assembler. Charlie loved upland bird hunting, particularly the annual Northern Minnesota Grouse hunting trip with his sons, Tim and Jon. He also enjoyed fishing, photography, and spending time with friends and family. Charlie will be missed greatly by his family and many friends. His sense of humor, kindness, and humility were second to none. Charlie loved the outdoors, and was a lifelong Minnesota sports fan, particularly the Vikings, Twins, Wild (nee the North Stars), Gopher hockey and football, and UMD Bulldog hockey. He always had his foam TV brick at the ready on gameday and was not afraid to use it following a ter rible call or when the opposing teams scored (the majority of the time due to a terrible missed call .!) Charlie is preceded in death by his father, Paul P. Quist; mother, Corinne M Quist; brother, Peter P Quist; and wives, Suzanne Eileen (Smith) Quist and Suzan Ann (Zimmerman) Quist. Charlie is survived by his children, Tim (Beth) Quist, Jon (Paige) Quist, Lori (Steve) Anderson, Chris Storms; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many friends and extended family. The family would like to t hank the physicians, professional services (PT, OT, Social Services, etc.), and particularly the nursing staff at Abbott Northwestern Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Charlie to his final day. They truly are the best medical care and emotio nal support team in the world. A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for Friday, October 1, 2021. The time and location are to be determined.
