Most people know Lakewood as a cemetery steeped in history. And that’s true, yet we are also a thought leader and pioneer. As art and architectural styles have evolved, and practices and preferences associated with death and burial have changed, Lakewood has remained at the forefront.

Lakewood will be recognized as a local treasure and industry pioneer who reimagined the role of a cemetery in modern life . . . and made memorialization more relevant, accessible and inviting for new audiences and generations.
… as well as some exciting new marketing and outreach initiatives. Here are some highlights:
- This spring we will unveil new ads and a new website to help create greater awareness of all the ways Lakewood can help families honor their loved ones, particularly those who choose cremation.
- We will continue to enhance our public events, such as Memorial Day and the Lantern Lighting Celebration, and we’ll be adding new ones such as Music in the Chapel, so that more people can discover what makes Lakewood such a treasure.
- And we’ll be telling more stories of all the unique and meaningful ways families have chosen to honor their loved ones at Lakewood.
