Lakewood Trolley Tour
September 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Hop aboard the trolley for a guided tour of Lakewood’s 250 acres of park-like beauty and storied history. We’ll take in vistas of the landscape and architecture, dive into the stories of some of Lakewood’s notable residents, and appreciate the artistry of monuments and sculptures. One of Lakewood’s talented volunteers will be your tour guide for this relaxed and informative experience.
Seats are limited. If you need to cancel your reservation, please email events@lakewoodcemetery.org so others may enjoy this experience.
Where to meet
Trolley passengers meet outside Lakewood’s historic Memorial Chapel. Directional signs will be posted. For GPS directions, this link opens in Google Maps.
Parking & transportation
Free parking is available along all roads inside the cemetery unless otherwise noted with a no parking sign. Metro Transit lines 6 and 23 stop near Lakewood’s front gates at 36th & Hennepin Avenue, about 1-2 blocks away from the chapel. If you arrive by bicycle, lock your bike at the rack near the front gates and walk to the chapel. Please do not lock bikes to trees.
Accessibility Information
- The trolleys are wheelchair accessible. Please email events@lakewoodcemetery.org to let us know if you need wheelchair access for your trolley tour, so we can make sure accommodations are ready when you arrive.
- Tour guides will wear a voice amplifier so all attendees are able to hear the tour.
Restrooms
Before and after the trolley ride, single-stall restrooms are available inside the chapel. Accessible restrooms are available in the Garden Mausoleum (open 10 AM–4:30 PM), located about 2 blocks from the chapel.
Cancellations
If your plans change and you cannot make it, please let us know by emailing events@lakewoodcemetery.org or calling 612-540-5165. Seats are limited and we greatly appreciate your courtesy to release unused seats so others may enjoy the experience.
If Lakewood needs to cancel this event for any reason, all attendees will be alerted via email and this page will be updated. Please make sure you provide the correct email at registration. We also encourage all attendees to check this page before heading to the event for any updates or cancellations.
