Focus on the Seasons Photo Contest

Our beautiful, free calendar featuring stunning scenes of Lakewood is available now, while supplies last. You can pick up yur copy at the Welcome Center, Monday – Saturday from 8 AM – 4:30 PM.

Winter contest will open in February.

Rules and tips:      

  • Everyone is welcome to enter!    
  • Submit up to two photos (per season). Photographers may only win once each year, so please plan ahead when you consider which photos to enter.
  • Photos must be horizontal.   
  • Photos must be high-resolution.  
  • All photos must be taken on the grounds at Lakewood.       
  • Please do not include recognizable faces in photos.      
  • Photographers may only win once per year.
  • Minor adjustments to photos, such as sharpening, contrast or cropping are permitted, but no other enhancements.
  • 2026 Calendars will be available for free in our Welcome Center mid-December 2025.     
  • Please be sensitive and respectful of others’ privacy. Avoid any area where there are funerals or graveside services, or a person/family is visiting a grave. Avoid pictures that show names on monuments and markers unless they are public figures and/or have historical significance.      
  • Photographers keep the rights to their images. By submitting a photo, you give Lakewood permission to use it in our calendar and in promotions related to the calendar and contest.
  • Lakewood does not permit photography for commercial use, unless it has been arranged as part of a funeral/service or a sanctioned Lakewood community event. For nonprofit or other types of photography, please request permission by sending an email to info@lakewoodcemetery.org.

Each season, eight semi-finalists will be selected, and then Lakewood friends and families are invited to vote for their favorites. The top three vote getters from each season, twelve in total, will have their photo featured in the Lakewood calendar, with name credit. Winners also receive two tickets to a Lakewood event.
