Mother’s Day Mini-Floral Memorials
May 10 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
This Mother’s Day, join us to create mini floral arrangements to honor and remember the mothers who live on in our hearts. We’ll have a beautiful assortment of flowers available so you can style a bouquet from your mom’s favorite flower, to a color that reminds you of her, or blooms that tell the story of your love for each other.

FAQs
Is there a minimum age requirement to participate?
No, all ages are welcome.
What is the process of this activity and how long does it take?
The process is fairly simple. We will have a large variety of cut or partially cut flowers and greens. You simply select a green and 2-3 small flowers that have meaning to you, and then tie them together with a small ribbon. Aside from selecting flowers, the activity itself only takes a couple of minutes. However we encourage you to stick around for a cup of coffee, and chat with others who are grieving beloved moms and motherly figures. Share stories and why you chose these flowers. The activity is short, but we hope it sparks mindful conversation.
Can I bring flowers or materials from home?
Yes! You are more than welcome to bring supplies from home and join us onsite to create and share stories. Please note that the arrangements we are putting together are about 3-6″ tall, so plan for any florals or greenery that can be cut to that length.
Do I need floral arranging experience?
Not at all! This is about pulling together flowers that speak to you and remind you of your mother or anyone you are remembering on this day. The arrangements will be simple and personal.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, this is a drop-in event and all basic supplies will be available for use.
We will also have some snacks and coffee available for guests.
Is parking available?
Yes, you can park on any of Lakewood’s roads unless otherwise marked. Please be especially mindful of any funeral or processional parking signs. Due to high attendance, parking may be difficult at times. You may need to park and walk.
Handicap parking is available near the Welcome Center as well.
What is the program itinerary?
This event will be primarily open-house with guests able to drop in at their own leisure. There are no formal remarks or presentations. Lakewood staff and volunteers will be available to support with materials as needed.
