Wednesday Evening Free Walking Tour
June 26 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Explore the beauty of Lakewood on this free evening walking tour. Join our tour guides on an informational and fun journey through our oldest section and buildings as we share information on Lakewood’s history, our notable residents, and more!
Tour guides will wear a voice amplifier for this tour.
Where to meet
This tour will start at the beautiful and historic Lakewood Memorial Chapel. Signs will be posted directing you to the event location or click here for GPS navigation through Google Maps.
Parking
Parking is available on any of the roads inside Lakewood’s gates unless otherwise noted with a no parking sign. Lakewood does not have an onsite parking lot – it is street parking only.
If you choose to take public transit, there is a bus stop just outside of Lakewood’s front gate, then a short walk from the gate to the chapel.
Bike parking is available at a bike rack near the front gate at 36th/Hennepin. Please do not lock bikes to trees.
Accessibility Information
- Tour guides will wear a voice amplifier so all attendees are able to hear the tour.
- The tour is about 3/4 miles in length, looping around Lakewood’s buildings and section 2 at a slow to moderate pace. The terrain includes paved roads as well as grass.
- Parts of this tour may not be wheelchair or scooter accessible. If you wish to attend using a wheelchair or scooter, please email us at events@lakewoodcemetery.org so your tour guides can plan an accessible route.
Restrooms
Restrooms will be available at the beginning and end of the tour in the chapel. Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of the chapel, we do not have wheelchair accessible restrooms available.
Cancellations
If Lakewood needs to cancel this event for any reason, all attendees will be alerted via email and this page will be updated. Please make sure you provide the correct email at registration.
