Lakewood welcomes author Fran Tilton Shelton to read and discuss passages from No Winter Lasts Forever, her first-hand account of loving and living with Alzheimer’s. Books will be available for sale.

This special event with the author precedes a gathering of the Lakewood Book Club, focused on the same title.

About Our Guest

Fran Tilton Shelton is a co-founder of Faith & Grief Ministries, a non-profit that provides opportunities for comfort to all who have experienced the death of a loved one. She currently serves as a parish associate for care at First Presbyterian Church, Dallas; a spiritual director; and a retreat leader. Her first book, No Winter Lasts Forever: A Memoir of Loving Bob and Loathing Alzheimer’s, shines honesty on the heart-wrenching and difficult art of extending care, day after day after day. She shares ways she navigated the unbidden and honorable role of caregiver through humor and grace.

Shelton’s second book, The Spirituality of Grief: 10 Practices for Those Who Remain, was released in April of this year. Five grandchildren, four book clubs, and three games per week of duplicate bridge keep her out of trouble.
