150 Trees for 150 Years  |  Help us restore our urban forest

Lakewood Partners with TPT for Our 150th!

For more than 150 years, Lakewood has been a place to honor and celebrate human lives and share precious memories and stories. Now, for the first time, some of these meaningful themes are captured in a documentary. Lakewood has partnered with Twin Cities Public Television to co-produce the documentary “Remembering Place: A Cemetery Story,” premiering on TPT 2 on Monday, November 22 at 8 p.m.

This hour-long, locally produced film delves into Lakewood’s role in the community, shares the stories of families who have generational connections to this place, and touches on the diversity of new offerings and traditions that are being created to help families honor and remember their loved ones.

“Lakewood has served this community for 150 years, and we have seen how remembrance practices continue to evolve. We hope this partnership with TPT will inspire individuals and families to discover what’s meaningful for them when it comes to memorialization, because as many of us know deeply, we never forget those we’ve lost,” said Lakewood’s President, Chris Makowske.
