Waterside Ceremonies & Scattering
The serene Waterside Pier on our private lake offers a beautiful, communal setting for scattering ceremonies or the releasing of ashes in biodegradable urns. Gather with loved ones for a personalized service with opportunities for family participation and moments of quiet reflection.
Lakeview Scattering Gardens
Set in the most visible corner of our historic grounds overlooking lovely Bde Mka Ska, families will find lush perennial gardens designed for scattering cremated remains under a canopy of graceful white oaks. Lakeview also includes several dedicated spaces for reverent ceremonies, quiet contemplation and joyful celebrations of life.
Living Memory Tree
The Living Memory Tree has become a treasured tradition for families to honor the memory of a loved one and express their sentiments in a creative, collective way. A small grove of Japanese Lilacs are adorned in colorful ribbons that contain heartfelt messages of remembrance and love.
Lantern Lighting Ceremony
There are many private ways to honor loved ones who have passed. But we also need collective ways to acknowledge loss and grief and life itself. Lakewood’s annual Lantern Lighting Celebration is an opportunity to gather with family, friends and others on Lakewood’s lovely grounds for a moving and meaningful experience.
